From Medical User to Pheno Hunter: The Journey Behind Speedrun Seeds
Ben Koch, the captain of the Speedrun ship, caught the “green bug” early on. He recalls his connection and fascination with the plant beginning in his teenage years: “I grew a plant in my parents' house... That was my first grow at 15.”
His professional journey, however, started with his battle against Crohn’s disease, a condition that led him to discover the healing power of cannabis.
That discovery cemented his company’s core values with his personal health experiences and his deep passion for growing weed.
“I discovered the benefits of cannabis early on due to my struggle with Crohn’s disease... cannabis alleviated my pain more effectively than prescribed medications.”
After working on a medical farm in Oregon in 2015, Ben’s passion for breeding deepened, eventually leading him to start Speedrun Seeds.
