The Prettiest Weed Strains for Growing

Cannabis varies in color and size, with pigments in the leaves determining its color. While chlorophyll imparts a green hue, other compounds, such as anthocyanins, can cause cannabis buds to turn purple.

Marijuana comes in different colors and sizes;  the color is due to the presence of pigments within the leaves. Chlorophyll gives cannabis its green hue, but other colors can appear as well. Compounds like anthocyanin can make cannabis buds purple.

Some of the prettiest cultivars have multiple colors and display a variety of purple hues alongside orange and yellow pistils (reproductive parts of the flower). When cannabis is grown in cooler temperatures below 65 degrees Fahrenheit, anthocyanin changes the plant's color from chlorophyll green to a more purple hue.
