The Top 10 Best Regular Cannabis Seeds
Researching the best regular cannabis strains of all time was not easy. However, it wasn’t a bad experience, especially if it meant giving new and experienced growers a list of the best Cannabis seeds of all time.
Researching the best regular Cannabis strains of all time was not easy. There are so many excellent strains to choose from, all of which have great genetics that translate to how good their effects are, their flavor, and how they grow. However, it wasn’t a bad experience, especially if it meant giving new and experienced growers a list of the best Cannabis seeds of all time.
How did we review them? One main factor was the strain’s contribution to the market, such as its popularity and other great strains it produced. Of course, we also rated their terpene profile and cannabinoid content. We didn’t focus on cultivar history as much since most strains on this list have unclear to downright mysterious origins, but we still included them as best we could.
We no longer sell regular seeds at ILGM as we focus on photoperiod and autoflower seeds instead. The recommendations you find below are all photoperiod seeds, though we've tried to share a selection with similar pheno-and genotypes to the regular counterparts.
G13
G13 is a great example of a mysterious strain. Rumor has it; the US Government developed it– hence the name. G stands for “Government,” and 13 is for the 13th letter of the alphabet, M, which is short for “Marijuana.” The story goes that someone smuggled it from the University of Mississippi and brought it to Holland, where someone made cuttings and spread them around.
G13 feminized seeds
G13 is one of the most famous unknown marijuana strains in history. Its origins are unclear. Its effects are unusual, and until recently, it was only grown from clones.
While G13 won’t have you sounding like a conspiracy theorist, it’s still a potent strain with a THC content of up to 24%, which delivers indica-leaning effects. Outside of its potency, G13 is on this list because of the many great strains it produced, such as Cannabis Cup award-winning strains like G13 Haze.
The best part about G13 is that you can grow it yourself with feminized seeds of G13 instead of trying to find someone with clones.

Blueberry
Blueberry has a long lineage that dates back to the 1970s, when people still had to use regular seeds, and weed still came in bricks that also had seeds. Growers at the time were experimenting with different strains, particularly Thai, Colombian, and Mexican landraces. One of the outcomes was Juicy Fruit, a strain that DJ Short then used for crossbreeding to create the strain many Cannabis connoisseurs cannot get enough of.
Blueberry feminized seeds
Blueberry marijuana seeds may be known for its tantalizing aroma and flavor, but trust us, this strain is more than its terpenes. Although technically a hybrid, Blueberry is a powerful indica that delivers a euphoric high.
For a good reason, since Blueberry is as flavorful as it is colorful. The lavender-blue color of its cured buds indicates its sweet berry flavor and strong euphoric high. In fact, the strong, near-tranquilizing effects of Blueberry made it popular in the Cannabis community.
Grow Blueberry for yourself by purchasing feminized seeds or autoflowering seeds from ILGM. While there, you can also download our Plant Care Guide to learn how to treat your plants best.

Please note that the CBD content of a strain isn’t fixed. Provide the right climate and feed your plants the right blend of nutrients for each growth stage, to help them reach higher CBD levels. This also applies if you want higher THC content in your buds.
Cannatonic deserves its place as one of the top 10 best marijuana strains because it delivers a long-lasting euphoric high while relieving and soothing pain and helping with anxiety.

Afghan
Nothing else comes to mind except Afghan if we’re discussing the most influential strain that helped shape the market. This pure indica strain is why we have weed strains such as Sour Diesel, Northern Lights, and Blueberry. Without it, the Cannabis scene wouldn’t have half the amount of strains we have today.
Afghan feminized seeds
Afghan is a very popular indica heritage strain that delivers a heavy-bodied high. Afghan seeds grow large, fragrant buds known for their happy, relaxed effect.
The deeply relaxing high its buds provide makes Afghan the best strain. With one toke, you’ll feel a strong body high that fills you with euphoria and happiness. It can be a potent strain, especially for those new to weed. It’s also a relaxing high that can make others sleepy.

Chemdawg
Chemdawg is another strain that heavily contributed to the Cannabis gene pool. Thanks to its genetics, we have Sour Diesel and OG Kush– both of which produced their line of strains with either diesel or OG in the names. And to think it all began with a bag of seeds taken from a Grateful Dead tour.
Chemdawg feminized seeds
Chemdawg (AKA Chemdog) is a Cannabis strain that's surrounded by mystery and myths. Its parents may be unknown, but its effects are quite the opposite.
Chemdawg’s pungent flavor of diesel is what made its genetics sought after. The breeders who got their hands on it focused on that trait when growing it. It also led to the development of other phenotypes, such as Chem’s sister.
While we don’t have Chem’s sister, we do have Chemdawg, which you can grow from feminized seeds. The one issue you might run into when growing this strain is mold, so we recommend getting Plant Protector to help keep mold and diseases away.

Super Silver Haze
Super Silver Haze is a potent strain that delivers a strong mood-boosting high that fills you with happiness and euphoria. Its sativa-leaning genetics are further expressed by how it boosts energy and creativity. But Super Silver Haze offers more than just a potent buzz. It also delivers on flavor with its two major terpenes: limonene and myrcene.
Super Silver Haze feminized seeds
Super Silver Haze feminized is a sativa-dominant hybrid good for a maximum all-day high. Super Silver Haze seeds grow a herb that offers a mellow yet potent high that lifts the mood.
The combination of its heady buzz and lemon and skunk flavor made this strain the back-to-back Cannabis Cup award-winning strain that we know. It does lose points for being a moderately difficult strain to cultivate. However, if you’re confident with your skills, you can try to grow Super Silver Haze.

Sour Diesel
Sour Diesel is a legendary weed strain with a murky lineage that traces back to California, where it was developed in the ‘90s by crossing Super Skunk with Chemdawg– or at least that’s how the prevailing theory goes. But while we don’t know its lineage, what we do know is that it’s one of the best genetic hybrids that managed to remain popular in the market.

OG Kush
To say that OG Kush is one of the most legendary marijuana strains in the market is somewhat selling it short. This Cali Cannabis plant is prized for its potent buzz and spicy herbal flavors. It is the top-shelf Cannabis that anyone can get their hands on, assuming they can, considering it’s always in high demand and supply is short.

OG Kush produces a mood-elevating, heavy euphoria making it great for people looking to wash away stress. Its blend of 75% indica and 25% sativa brings a balance between physical and mental experience.
Part of why it’s hard to find this strain is the difficulty of growing OG Kush. Yet despite that, it’s still the cream of the crop among the top 10 best weed strains on this list due to its popular demand.

Conclusion
When it comes to growing weed, choosing the best has a lot of guarantees. And the easiest way to know if a strain is the best is to see if it’s popular. Well-known regular marijuana seeds will nearly always guarantee great genetics. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have the following that they have.
While some of the strains on this list aren’t the easiest to grow, they do at least yield buds that are sought after, making the challenge of growing them all the more worthwhile. And if you want Cannabis cultivation to be fun and easy to learn, download Robert’s Grow Bible.
