Hazy Girl by Green Bodhi
Hazy Girl captivates with its stunning, multicolored trichome-coated buds and irresistible flavors. We had the chance to sit down with John Bayes, the creative force behind Green Bodhi Genetics, to explore the story behind the creation of Hazy Girl.
Hazy Girl stands out with its beautiful multicolored, trichome-drenched nugs and its irresistible flavors. We grabbed some time with John Bayes, the mastermind behind Green Bodhi Genetics, to dive into the story of how Hazy Girl came to be.
Eugene's Craft Cannabis Meets The Bay Area Hype
When his buddy from SC Labs called around 2011 to let him know he had some of the new Bay Area Platinum Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) as it was just hitting the scene, Green Bodhi just had to give it a try. He knew as soon as he smelled it that it would bring two of the cannabis meccas together as one: California and Oregon all in one strain!
John took the Platinum GSC and hit it with his tried-and-tested stud Hazy Kush, and something special happened. He deliberately blended Eugene’s robust cannabis genetics with a dash of modern Bay Area flair. The result is a work of dedication and intentional searching, a pungent and crisp blend of OG and Haze character.
Hazy Girl feminized seeds
Hazy Girl (Platinum GSC x Hazy Kush) is easily one of the more appealing strains that we’ve come across. Boasting a sweet cookie doughy, pastry-like profile coupled with a ripe mango undertone and Skunky finish, her aroma is easy to distinguish. Her high provides gentle relaxation and allows the mind to unwind.
Hazy Girl isn’t just another name randomly tossed together; it represents an ode to a friend that passed close to Green Bodhi’s heart: his pup and partner in crime:
“Hazy Girl is actually because my dog, Hazy, was a girl, so with GSC in the mix, it just fit perfectly."

The Fresh West Coast Flavors of Hazy Girl
Popping open a jar of Hazy Girl is invariably followed by a pullback and a “Wow! What is this!?”
Coming with a smell of freshly baked goods mixed with pungent fruits (mango, specifically). Hazy Girl is a head-turner and nostril-flarer. It captivates your senses with its beauty and pungent aroma. You get those sweet, earthy vibes from the Girl Scout Cookies, but then the Hazy Kush throws in some unexpected twists:
"The Hazy Girl has a more doughy, more kind of like mango kind of smell."
The flavor translation is phenomenal. You start with the sweet rush of Hazy Kush as you inhale, and then it shifts—there's a hit of that classic OG Kush and Durban Poison gassiness on the exhale, all wrapped up in hints of skunky berries that just complete the experience. For anyone who loves a rich taste that showcases its genetic roots, each puff is like meeting all the different sides of this legendary lineage.
Hazy Girl Promises Harmony of Euphoria and Relaxation
Boasting up to 23% THC and the legacy of cannabis giants, Hazy Girl won't disappoint. You've got terpinolene lighting up that initial spark, making you feel all bright and alert. Then comes beta-caryophyllene and alpha-humulene, which mellow everything out. Perfect for kicking stress to the curb or just unwinding after one of those endless days. Green Bodhi selections always carry his mark: an intentionally crafted balance between productivity, motivation, and relaxation.
Green Bodhi’s Cultivation Tips
Growing Hazy Girl is a joy. According to Bodhi it’s this adaptability to both organic and conventional methods that makes this strain so flexible to cultivate.
"The Hazy Girl, very easy to grow, it's very simple one, grows itself really...not too needy on the nitrogen”.
John suggests starting slow with fertilizers to avoid over-feeding them. It’s important to top and prune Hazy Girl to promote light penetration and ventilation. Another pro-tip he shares with us is something he recommends every grower should do with all feminized seeds:
“With any fem, I really suggest people take out the lowers if it’s not getting good light. I suggest they take it out because it’s fem, bro. Like there’s a chance of some weird stuff happening if you leave parts that aren't getting the prime conditions.”
Green Bodhi recommends keeping that canopy level and well-lit to ensure you get the prime example of what Hazy Girl can do. Pruning techniques such as lollipopping followed by SCROG or trellises to maximize yield and avoid any potential issues.
As a final pro-tip, John shares that he prefers tomato cages to train his plants and help them support those massive colas:
“And I just like to pop the cage on there. Prune it up how I want it. Use the cage as the thing I'm clipping the plant to.”
