Suga’ Shining Out from the Undertow Project
The story of Suga’ Shine is marked by both Jason’s in-house phenos peppered by Cookies genetics. Suga’ Shine’s parents are Undertow, a celebrated and industry-recognized strain; and one of House of Cultivars' favorites, Sugar Berry Scone. Undertow caught Berner and the Cookies Fam's attention, who added it to their roster.
Jason created Undertow by crossing Wet Betty from Exotic Genetix and Cali Gushers from Cookies to create this gassy purple and green power-packed plant. After seeing Undertow, Berner was taken by it and forged a collaboration to have Cookies grow it across multiple facilities. The other half of this plant, Sugar Berry Scone, was bred by House of Cultivar and also contains Cookies lineage combining Grape Pie and Thin Mint GSC.
All-in-One Strain: Stunning Dense Buds and Exceptional Hash Production
With Suga’ Shine, you get everything that you want from a plant: taste, smell, nug structure, plant structure, and ability to wash. She stacks her buds on top of one another to give you a dense, bushy structure that works well with scrogging and topping. When you top her, she’ll produce shoots that mirror the length of the main shoot, giving her a complete bushy structure.
Suga' Shine Feminized Seeds
Suga' Shine was bred and selected from Colors by Cultiva’s Undertow breeding project. They wanted to explore what breeding the undertow to one of their all time favorites the Sugar Berry Scone would offer, and in this case were happily presented with a beautiful mix of both parents.
When you’re popping seeds, test each plant to see what resin they produce since some phenos tend to make a more sandy resin conducive to washing and extraction, whereas others may be a bit greasy.

As with any good thing, you must care for the Suga’ to watch’er shine. She was bred to have a dense nug structure, and that’s fantastic if you have a keen eye and ensure that the humidity is controlled and the plant receives proper airflow.
Failure to do so can lend itself to mold and ruin your whole crop, so keep an eye out! As Jason Puts it:
“When you go and see someone's grow and its not looking so looking so hot. The first thing I’d say to the grower is: - so you got a new girlfriend? You dating because clearly you're not downstairs in your grow room enough, these plants, they know when you're cheating on them faster than anybody else, and they show it to you.”
All in all, Suga’ Shine loves consistency in her feeding and good environmental conditions. If you keep your eye on both of these and train her well, promoting airflow, she’ll flourish and give you a harvest that matches the care you put in.
