Bud of the month

Yes. Entries are posted as replies in the monthly contest thread on ilgmforum.com, so you need to be logged in to your forum account.

1. - Entries open in the first few days of each month, when ILGM posts that month’s contest thread.

2. - You post your entry in the thread: your ILGM strain name, your ILGM order number, and one photo of your favorite bud.

3. - Entries close at midnight on the deadline posted in the thread, about two weeks after opening.

4. - A poll is posted listing every entry. All forum members and ILGM staff can vote, with one vote per IP address or household. Voting runs for about a week.

5. - The winner is announced in the thread, and forum admin @AfgVet sends them a private message about the prize.

Example, October 2026: the thread opened October 4, entries closed at midnight on October 21, the poll went up October 22, and the winner was announced October 29. Exact dates vary slightly each month, so always check the deadline in the current thread.

Confirmed ILGM seed purchasers located in the US. Past and present ILGM staff cannot enter.

No. ILGM ships only within the US, so the contest and its prize are limited to US-based members.

The bud must come from a plant grown from seeds you purchased from ILGM Seed Bank. You can enter a plant you’re growing now or one you’ve already harvested. Plants grown from other seed banks aren’t eligible.

Reply in the current month’s contest thread with three things:

• 
  - The ILGM strain name (for example, “Girl Scout Cookies Extreme”)

• - Your ILGM order number from your seed purchase

• - One photo of one bud from that plant

A typical entry looks like this: “Apple Fritter Fem, order # 1234567” plus the photo.

The contest is open to confirmed ILGM purchasers, and the rules require your order number with every entry.

No. Each entry is one photo of one bud, and once posted, your photo can’t be changed. Pick your best shot before you post.

In the current month’s contest thread, found in the Bud of the Month category. Posts in older months’ threads, the rules thread, or other parts of the forum don’t count as entries.

A pack of 5 ILGM seeds in any strain of the winner’s choice. Prizes ship within the US only. Breeder seeds excluded.

Yes, but you can’t win two months in a row, and waiting periods apply:

• - 1st win: You sit out the next 1 month, then can enter again;

• - 2nd win: You sit out the next 2 months, then can enter again;

• - 3rd win: You’re retired to the BOM Hall of Fame and can’t enter again.

No. After you win, any future entry must be a different plant and a different strain to be considered for prizes.
