This strain even won the 'Best indica' award in the High Times 'Cannabis Cup' in 2000 - and for good reason. This plant looks amazing and is very forgiving for beginners.
Blueberry Autoflower displays vibrant purple and blue coloration in cooler conditions while maintaining full fruity flavor profiles. The strain completes its lifecycle in 9-10 weeks with yields of 300-400 grams per square meter in indoor environments.
The Blueberry Autoflower strain is a blend of strains from an Afghan indica and Thai sativa. The sativa is a mix of Thai and Purple Thai sativa. The breeder was DJ Short. He worked with a couple of different landrace strains until he created the Blueberry strain we know and love.
This strain is largely considered an indica since that accounts for 80% of the plant as a whole. With that said, the sativa presence provides enough of a counterbalance so you can relax without being overwhelmed by sleepiness.
Once upon a time we only knew Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa plants. These are seasonal plants that start growing in spring and are ready to be harvested when days turn shorter - so towards fall.
Indoor growers learned to imitate nature by manipulating this light cycle.
In the early '80s a third species, ruderalis, was brought to Amsterdam. This plant is a Cannabis relative that was discovered in Siberia. Breeders found that this ruderalis plant would flower after just a few weeks, regardless of light differences. These ruderalis genes were combined with existing indica and sativa strains and from here, autoflowering feminized seeds were born.
Nowadays you can find autoflowering variants of all sorts of popular strains. They grow smaller plants but they're easier to grow and you can harvest much sooner than with photosensitive plants. Great for new growers, growing in a small space, or if you want multiple harvests per season!
Since this is an autoflower plant, it doesn't grow very tall (about 32 inches). Despite its height, it has a pretty decent yield. One thing to consider is that since this is an autoflowering strain, it won't respond to seasonal changes in light but instead, flowers after just a few weeks.

It's a great beginner grow that works best indoors but is easily managed outdoors as well. If you are looking for an easy to grow plant that responds well indoors or out, produces relatively high yields, and doesn't take up a ton of space - this is for you.
Growing outdoors means you might end up harvesting in the middle of summer. If you time it right, you can get another quick harvest if you replant right away.
