Granddaddy Purple Autoflower Seeds

Need to relax after a long day? Why not sink into your couch and kiss the worries of the day goodbye? Auto Granddaddy Purple (Auto GDP) is the strain for doing just that. This offspring of Granddaddy Purple and Hindu Kush strains offers lasting relaxation with a strong body high. It's known for melting away tense muscles and intensifying your fondness for whatever you can find in your kitchen.

Granddaddy Purple Autoflowering Origins

Grand Daddy Purple Autoflower gets its name (and look) from its Granddaddy purple parent. Its exquisite purple buds develop as the plant matures and later form into red-tinted crystals. The Hindu Kush aspects of Granddaddy Purple auto plants create a delightful smell and taste and a THC content ranging from 14% to 23% that may leave novice smokers locked to their couch.

This popular Grand Daddy kush strain is a cross of the pure indica strains Granddaddy Purple and Hindu Kush. Grown by Ken Estes in a San Francisco laboratory, Granddaddy Purple is a west coast classic. It is known for its profoundly relaxing high, mild buzz, and sweet grape taste.

Hindu Kush takes its name from its origin, a 500-mile mountain range between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Its subtle but sweet earthy aroma and sedative qualities make it a favorite for anyone looking for a relaxing high after a long day.

Granddaddy Purple Autoflower develops deep purple hues during the flowering stage with THC levels reaching 18-22 %. The strain matures in 10-11 weeks and produces 300-350 grams per square meter with a heavy, relaxing indica-dominant effect profile. The combination of these popular parent strains makes for the perfect Grand Daddy kush strain.

What Are Grand Daddy Purple Autoflowers

Prior to the 80s, growers had two options-- Cannabis indica and Cannabis sativa. Starting in the spring, they transition from their vegetative stage to their flowering stage as the days grow shorter in the fall. Indoor growers have learned to imitate this growth cycle with light manipulation, but, like outdoor growers, they're limited to a slow growth cycle and single annual harvest.

The discovery of a third species, Cannabis ruderalis, brought new options. Discovered in Siberia in the early 80s, this new substrain fascinated Amsterdam breeders. It could automatically flower after just a few weeks. They went to work, crossing it with the existing indica and sativa strains to create a new autoflower type.

Of course, more options mean more fun. These days many popular strains, such as this Grand Daddy Purple auto strain, are available as autoflower seeds.

Growing Grand Daddy Purple Autoflowering Seeds

Perfect for new growers, those growing in a small space, or those who prefer more than one harvest each year, the Grand Daddy Purp grow cycle is very accommodating. They don't have special light requirements to bloom, are ready to harvest in 10 to 14 weeks.

As is the nature of all autoflowering strains, Auto GDP can flower on its own, not requiring the sophisticated lighting systems common to other indoor growing plants. Likewise, Auto GDP seeds yield compact-size plants - they can grow to a meter tall in the appropriate environment. Their small size makes them ideal for indoor growers, and they're ready in just 10 to 14 weeks.

These are feminized seeds. Female plants, contrary to male plants, are the ones that actually produce weed. All of our autoflowering seeds are feminized!

Preferred Climate

This autoflowering indica is perfect for growing indoors due to its small size and preference for a humidity-controlled environment. In the right environment, the Grand Daddy Kush strain does well in mild climates with low humidity levels. Outdoor growers will enjoy its high level of disease resistance.

Granddaddy Purple autoflowers do well in soil or water. If you prefer to grow marijuana outdoors, auto GDP does well in cooler climates.

Flowering and Yield

Growers will be pleasantly surprised by the average Grand Daddy purple yield. In just eight weeks, you'll have short, bushy plants with up to 5 to 15 ounces per square yard.

When grown outdoors, the average grand daddy purple yield per plant is about the same, about 4-6 ounces per plant or 150 grams, but they will grow a bit taller. Regardless of the light cycle, these plants will still automatically flower in about eight weeks. They can stand a little cold, but make sure to harvest before the first frost.

Whether growing indoors or out, this plant is remarkably simple to grow and is a great option for beginner growers.
